Parades and Shows Teachers' Notes

Art and Design

Disneyland Paris offers countless opportunities for pupils to explore visual, tactile and other sensory experiences to communicate ideas and meanings.

By using the Parades and Shows Workbook in the Resort, students will appreciate and value images and artefacts across times and cultures. Through the Workbook's "Stage Show Project" students will discover:

  • The creativity seen within the resort
  • Evaluating processes - identifying and using criteria to justify the quality of other people's products
  • Knowledge and understanding of materials and components

Whilst in the Resort, students can also investigate:

  • The art and design behind the merchandise in the boutiques, particularly the prints of Disney's animated films, hand blown glassware and ceramics
  • Hotel theming: how the Resort has a chosen topic for each of its Hotels and carries it through with costumes, room settings, menus etc.
